Grade 301L stainless steel is a low-carbon steel that is excellent for increasing ductility and welding large sections. Unlike grade 301 welds, grade 301L welds do not need to be annealed for maximum corrosion resistance. Type 301L stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel with normal chromium and nickel content of 17 percent and 7%, respectively. The 301L has an advantage in terms of corrosion resistance due to its lower carbon content. The 301L, on the other hand, is a very ductile material. It doesn’t have the same punch as the 301.
